With a Warriors title hanging in the balance, the NBA announced Scott Foster will officiate Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Despite Foster’s longstanding history with the Warriors — we documented some of it here — there were no problems with him when he called Game 2 of the NBA Finals, a 110-77 Golden State blowout win.

Also peculiarly, Foster was an official for last year’s Game 6 of the NBA Finals, a 105-97 Warriors win, with championship champagne showers right after the victory.

In a controversial move, the NBA took Foster off Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against the Thunder, hinting that his biases against the Warriors may be true. The Warriors are 5-4 in games officiated by Foster, and 23-7 in games when he’s not on the whistle.

Ken Mauer and Jason Phillips will accompany Foster on the call.

The 49-year-old Foster has been refereeing in the NBA since 1994.
