Stack Jack could be back, but not how Warriors fans might expect. ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that the Warriors are interested in bringing Stephen Jackson back into the organization, this time as a coach. There’s one snag in the Warriors’ pursuit — Jackson intends to return to the NBA next year as a player, according to Stein. The versatile Jackson last played in the Association in 2013-14 with the Clippers, playing only nine games and shooting 7 percent from behind the arc.

Stein tweeted that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was roommates with Jackson on the 2003 Spurs, a possible root in the team’s interest. He also played on the Warriors for parts of three seasons from 2007-10. But Jackson has been working toward an on-court comeback, so his immediate future in the NBA remains uncertain.
