This is the summer of Kevin Durant.

The Warriors’ superstar continues his tour on center stage of the basketball world, this time in Las Vegas. After practice on Wednesday, Durant put on a dazzling shooting display, even for his standards. It’s mesmerizing to watch.

Our senior staff writer Kevin Jones wrote about Durant’s impending alpha dog status on Team USA, and how it compares to Kobe Bryant in 2008 and LeBron in 2012. Both stars followed their gold medals with championship rings.

The 27-year-old Durant shot 38.8 percent from downtown in the 2015-16 regular season, but he shot just 28.2 percent in the postseason. His three-point shooting will be under a microscope next to Steph Curry.

Durant is joined by teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in Vegas. Next week they’ll begin their tour in Los Angeles and in Oakland playing exhibition games against China before the Olympics begin on Aug. 5.
