As he continually encroaches on LeBron and Nike’s stranglehold on the shoe market, Steph Curry and Under Armour launched another pair of new kicks.

The Curry Lux, made of leather and suede, will make its debut in stores on Aug. 5. Here’s what shoe blog Highsnobiety.com wrote about the kicks.

The “Curry Lux” collection is a set of signature footwear inspired by Curry’s style both on and off the court. Which means that this mix of mid and low cut styles carry a sense of both sleek athleticism and polished refinement The sneaker is constructed from a mix of premium leather and rich suede, all formed into a silhouette that the brand has dubbed the “Curry One.” The shoe is seen here in black, but will be available in a total of five different colorways.

Twitter famously had a field day when the white low-top version the Curry 2’s came out in early June. Klay Thompson joked they looked like shoes nurses wear. Despite the hilarious backlash, a report this week said the shoes were sold out.

“If I had them in the road bag I definitely would’ve worn them, to show how fire they are,” Curry joked during the NBA Finals.

Under Armour also released two Bay Area themed Curry shoes in May, one with Giants colors and one with A’s colors. Particularly with kids under 18, Curry’s star appeal is not slowing down any time soon.

In March, Business Insider reported Curry’s worth to Under Armour had approached $14 billion. ESPN’s Ethan Sherwood-Strauss penned a terrific profile on how Nike botched their pitch meeting to Curry, who apparently undervalued the Warriors’ superstar potential at the time. The now two-time MVP bolted to Under Armour, and alongside Cam Newton, Bryce Harper and Jordan Spieth, Curry has skyrocketed the company’s growth.

Interestingly enough, Curry will be competing with Kevin Durant for shots on the basketball court and in the shoe market. Before heading to Las Vegas to begin his Team USA journey this summer at the Olympics, Durant was in China promoting his shoe brand.

Draymond Green also wears the Nike brand, had new shoes drop earlier in June. Thompson wears Anta shoes, a sportswear company based in China.
