You can’t make this stuff up.

Green River, a Seattle area community college, is offering a college course to help explain football to bandwagon fans.

Here’s the class listing.

Seattle Football 101: The Basics
Have you recently jumped on the football bandwagon? If so, you may want to understand or review basic football rules, positions, terms, and scoring. As most ardent football fans can agree, the best time to ask questions about football may NOT be during the game! Join this fun, interactive class as we use our home team as a model for learning the basics of football which will help you enjoy the game even more. CEUs: .35

The 49ers may be one of the worst teams in the NFL at this second, but football is engrained in the Bay Area. People know the rules here, they know how to speak intelligently about the game and, they’ll still consume 49ers games and articles because their love for their squad is undying.

Seahawks fans have been heavily accused of jumping on the bandwagon when Russell Wilson arrived on the scene in 2012. This certainly doesn’t help their cause.

Football 101 classes are every Saturday this semester, fro 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. It’s a one time class that goes for anywhere between $39-35 a pop. The website says classes are currently sold out.
