As one part of the country wrestles with how to contain their disdain for Colin Kaepernick’s protest and comments, there’s another part that’s rallying around him.
Right now, there is no hotter item on 49ers.com than a No. 7 Kaepernick jersey.

There’s a strong chance Kaepernick’s jersey is selling more than just the Bay Area and with people who don’t even know much or care about football. Kaepernick is a political figure now, a symbol for many as a freedom fighter.
Crowd sourcing Levi’s Stadium during the preseason, and the No. 7 still remains the most popular jersey to wear on game day, too.
All reports indicate that Kaepernick has made the 49ers 53-man roster. The team is expected to announce a starter by Tuesday. Blaine Gabbert is in line for the Week 1 gig.
