UPDATE: The 49ers have announced they’ve released Miller.

49ers tight end Bruce Miller was arrested Monday morning for assault, according to KTVU.

The arrest stemmed from an incident at the Fisherman’s Wharf Marriott Hotel on Sunday night.

Miller tried checking into the hotel Sunday evening, but was told there were no open rooms. Here’s the rest from KTVU:

Sources say he returned Monday morning and knocked on one of the guest room doors.

The guest opened the door and informed Miller that he had wrong room.

That’s when Miller allegedly began attacking the guest. The guest’s father, who was also staying in the room, came to his son’s aid, and was also attacked by Miller.

Sources say that man, who is 70-years-old, was punched in the face and suffered broken bones.

Both father and son were transported to the hospital.

Miller was previously arrested for spousal assault last year. The 49ers released a statement on the incident to beat reporters.
