Bills fire Greg Roman two weeks into the season

Welp, that was quick.

The Buffalo Bills have fired Greg Roman two games into his second season. The Jets beat the Bills 37-31 on Thursday Night Football and the offensive coordinator was relived of his duties the very next day.

49ers fans can relate to Roman’s inept play-calling. Roman was Jim Harbaugh’s offensive coordinator from 2011-14, and many complained about the vanilla offense. The 49ers’ offense finished in the bottom half of the league in yards three out of the four seasons Roman was in San Francisco. Roman was blamed for his play-calling in the Super Bowl loss, and abandoning the rushing attack far too often during his time with the 49ers.

As for the Bills, talk about hitting the panic button. The team just signed young quarterback Tyrod Taylor to a $92 million contract. Anthony Lynn is expected to take over as offensive coordinator.

You would think head coach Rex Ryan should be feeling the heat, but the NFL Network is reporting the ownership believes in Ryan long term. Still, things can change. If the Bills season continues down a 5-11 path, Ryan could be next on the chopping block.
