Los Angeles Rams fire Jeff Fisher [report]

A day after the Los Angeles Rams were trounced 42-14 by the Atlanta Falcons, the team has fired head coach Jeff Fisher.

Fisher was hired by the Rams in 2012 and amassed a record of 31-45-1 in nearly five seasons. The team never had one winning season in his tenure.

He’s been lambasted on Twitter all season, especially after reports surfaced the Rams actually gave him an extension.

Does this put more pressure on the 49ers to make a move — either on GM Trent Baalke or head coach Chip Kelly?

The Rams are letting it known that 4-9 is completely unacceptable, while the 49ers continue their downward spiral at 1-12. San Francisco’s lone win was over Fisher in Week 1 on Monday Night Football.

Here is the Rams’ official statement on parting ways with Fisher.
