Larry Krueger explains what Kap opting out of his contract would mean for 49ers

Friday Adam Schefter reported that Colin Kaepernick is expected to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers and become a free agent.

If Kaepernick chooses to opt out, the 49ers will have $16.9 million of freed up cap space, and will carry almost $2.5 million in dead money. This doesn’t mean that Colin Kaepernick won’t be back in Red and Gold next season, but it allows him to test the free agent market.

We caught up with Larry Krueger during a break in his show with Gary Radnich to get his take on what this means for both the San Francisco 49ers and Colin Kaepernick going forward.
