Kerr trolls Dennis Rodman for complaining about players taking rest

There aren’t many pregame NBA interviews worth your time. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr falls under the exception. People often ask me the best part about covering Golden State and I routinely tell them Kerr’s interviews are consistently entertaining and informative.

An hour before the Warriors tip-off against the Suns, Kerr was back at it again Wednesday night in Phoenix.

Answering a question from ESPN’s Michel Wilbon about how Phil Jackson treated the rest scenario with the Bulls, Kerr interjected a point about his former teammate Dennis Rodman, who said this week today’s stars have it easy.

“I saw Dennis, Dennis Rodman was complaining about it,” Kerr began. “I got a good kick out of that, because I thought Dennis was suspended for 15 games a year anyway. Guy got plenty of rest! (He went) to Vegas, or Wrestlemania. Like, he just took a night off whenever he wanted. So he can’t complain.”

For some reason, there’s nothing better than Kerr trolling the older generation he played with. By no means was Kerr a star, but he gets to speak with credibility because of his three rings with the Chicago Bulls. He also won two rings with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999 and 2002.

The video is much better than the quotes. H/T to the great Anthony Slater, and there’s a link to his podcast hit with Murph and Mac below.
