Sergio Romo relives his entire Giants career in 3-minute thank you to SF

Sergio Romo spent nine illustrious seasons with the San Francisco Giants from 2008-2016. He was a part of countless memories with the organization and at AT&T Park. Romo joined Murph & Mac Thursday morning to reflect on his first return to San Francisco since signing with the Los Angleles Dodgers over the offseason.

“The cool part about staying in the NL West Division is, I’ll be back in there in three more weeks. I’m excited, that’s the cool part about it, I get to return to the places that helped me become the man that I am now. This place, this city, this organization here in San Francisco, they helped me become, how do you say? They gave me the ability to help me do some things that I’m very thankful for. Taking care of my family. The experiences I’ve had, the blessed career that I’ve had. From the things that I’ve seen in this organization. From the Rookie of the Years, the MVPs, the Cy Youngs, the no-hitters, the broken records. The diving catches, the splash shots, meeting hall of famers on a regular. Being able to see hall of famers on a regular. The three homers in the World Series. The World Series, let alone, you know what I mean? Hudson’s and Peavy’s 2000 strikeouts, Randy Johnson’s 300th win. I mean I’ve played with the likes of Omar Vizquel, Bengie Molina, Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain. This is unreal, Edgar Renter, Freddy Sanchez, Marco Scutaro. I can’t sit here and tell you how blessed I know I really am, and was to be a part of this organization. So, to come back here, the only real thing I have left to do is really to just say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’ll never be forgotten, I know I said it to you guys before about leaving my heart in San Francisco. I made a home here too, so it’s not like this place is just all of a sudden, ‘Poof! Be gone, you’re not welcome.’ No, this place has been unbelievably great to me, still. Even walking around the city the last couple of days. ‘Oh hey Romo, Mechon!’ and all that good stuff and thank yous. I just cannot do anything else but just show the appreciation and the gratitude that I have and… yeah…thank you San Francisco.

Walk it off, peace!”
