June 19th, 2017 (New York, NY) — Golden State Warriors’ Andre Iguodala and Stephen Curry announced today the launch of the inaugural The Players Technology Summit, presented by Bloomberg. The Players Technology Summit will bring together top leaders in the technology, venture capital and sports communities to exchange ideas and share expertise in an educational and empowering forum. It will be held August 14-16, 2017, in San Francisco, CA.

The Summit will consist of discussions, panels and interactive networking focused on allowing athletes across all sports to take control of their careers as business professionals—while bringing their power and influence to the conversation with CEOs, prominent VCs and industry leaders. The Players Technology Summit is a platform to create opportunities between athletes and executives interested in joining the discussion surrounding the disruptive forces at play in technology, entrepreneurship and investing.

Andre Iguodala and Stephen Curry have been at the forefront of navigating the worlds of venture capital and technology in the Bay Area. As a mainstay in Silicon Valley, Andre has built a diverse portfolio of companies including TruMid, Thrive Global, Casper, Walker & Company, Hingeto and The Players Tribune. Stephen Curry is a co-founder of the marketing automation startup Slyce, investor in web and mobile application companies such as Pinterest and has served as a regular panelist at notable industry events while building Stephen Curry 30 Enterprises.

“Playing in Silicon Valley’s backyard has exposed me to information and resources that I’m excited to share through the Summit,” says Stephen Curry. “Whether you’re thinking about your first move into entrepreneurship or investing, or perhaps already a veteran in the space, it’s about surrounding yourself with the right team and putting in the work to always be improving as a professional.”

“I’ve been fortunate to learn from some of the best in the tech and venture capital business and have put those learnings to work,” says Andre Iguodala. “The Players Technology Summit is about sharing those learnings and relationships and building a lasting impact.”

Added Brad Stone, Bloomberg Technology senior executive editor: “Once content to watch each other from the sidelines, professional athletes and Silicon Valley investors and entrepreneurs now realize they have a lot to learn from each other. I’m excited for Bloomberg to present The Players Technology Summit and to see where the conversation goes this year.”
