The Earthquakes are looking to get back in the win column after being outscored 8-1 in its past two games against the New York Red Bulls and Seattle Sounders. San Jose will look to turn it around versus the Colorado Rapids on Saturday at Avaya Stadium.

It’s the Earthquakes’ first MLS home match since June 24, a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake and the second and final match of the season between the two clubs. Colorado topped San Jose 3-0 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on May 13. Shleken Gashi scored a pair of goals (29′,57′) in the Rapids’ win. San Jose couldn’t get much going on the offensive end, mustering only two shots on goal.

The May 13 loss snapped a two-game win streak for the Quakes. San Jose is now looking for a win to snap a two-game losing streak, in which they were overwhelmed in a 5-1 loss to New York, followed by a 3-0 loss to Seattle on Sunday.

San Jose is just outside the playoff picture. They are currently the first team out, sitting in seventh place in the Western Conference with 26 points in 21 games played.

A win against Colorado will help the Earthquakes chances. They’ll lean on their captain, Chris Wondolowski, who has scored 11 goals in 20 games against Colorado as a Quakes player. Additionally, “Wondo” is just two goals away from scoring at least 10 goals for an eighth straight season.

The 2017 Gold Cup concluded on Wednesday just down the street at Levi’s Stadium. The Quakes will be getting back midfielders Anibal Godoy and Darwin Ceren, and forward Marco Urena, all of whom participated in the Gold Cup.

The Quakes are back home and they’re making it easy for fans throughout the Bay Area to get down to Avaya Stadium. The team has chartered a free CalTrain to the stadium for the match, leaving San Francisco at 2:47 p.m. and arriving at Santa Clara at 4:25 p.m. Following the game, CalTrain leaves Santa Clara at 7:47 p.m. and arrives in San Francisco at 9:26 p.m.

It will also be the first-ever “Luau Night” at Avaya Stadium.

The broadcast begins Saturday at 4:45 on KNBR 1050
