SAN FRANCISCO–The San Francisco Giants have had a slew of injuries in their infield in recent weeks.

On Monday night, Pablo Sandoval was the latest player to go down, as he left the Giants’ contest against the Brewers in the bottom of the eighth inning after being hit by a pitch on the wrist.

Sandoval recorded two hits in three at-bats prior to his hit-by-pitch on Saturday night, including a double which marked his fifth extra base hit since returning to the Giants in early August.

Sandoval is the latest Giants’ player to injure himself on a hit by pitch, as prospects Christian Arroyo and Ryder Jones both suffered hand injuries after being drilled at AAA Sacramento in July. Arroyo is out for the season after undergoing surgery on his injured hand, while Jones is back with the Giants’ big league club.

Starting first baseman Brandon Belt and starting second baseman Joe Panik are both on the disabled list with concussions, while reserve infielder Miguel Gomez is on the disabled list with a knee injury.
