Kevin Durant reached the summit of NBA excellence this June. Now, he’s trying his hand at clound computing.

Durant invested an undisclosed amount in Palo Alto start-up Rubrik, and was named as a board adviser for advice on strategic marketing initiatives the company announced Tuesday. Founded in 2014, Rubrik helps businesses, governments and nonprofit organizations with data protection, search, analytics, archival and copy data management. This is not Durant’s first foray into the world of start-ups, as the NBA Finals MVP is already a venture capital investor in companies Postmates, Acorns, Propel and Zenreach.

“I invest in game-changing companies with a winning spirit,” Durant said in a statement. “Rubrik is a rising tech powerhouse taking on a $48 billion market opportunity. I’m excited to support (Rubrik co-founder and CEO Bipul Sinha) and his team as they build a global brand.”

Durant will provide “strategic initiatives and also content development through his Thirty Five Media business arm” according to the company, which will also include Durant’s popular YouTube channel.

“Kevin has deep business relationships around the globe and he has created a brand that represents excellence and authenticity,” Rubrik co-founder and CEO Bipul Sinha said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the Rubrik team.”
