OAKLAND–No Warriors’ player could have possibly enjoyed the team’s preseason trip to China as much as Klay Thompson.
But plenty of Golden State’s players made the most of their trip across the Pacific Ocean including reserve center JaVale McGee. McGee was active on Twitter throughout the Warriors’ visit and clearly enjoyed taking in the culture.

The Warriors made a few different stops in one of the NBA’s most important international markets, and McGee said that a day trip to Hong Kong was his favorite part of the team’s trip.
“I definitely liked Hong Kong the best, we went to Hong Kong for the day and that was pretty dope,” McGee said. “Walking around, went to the mall, went to the flea market, I think it’s called, there was a lot of cool things.”
Though McGee said he did plenty of shopping overseas, he said he only bought one gift for himself.
“I’m at the age where I stopped getting stuff for myself now, it’s weird,” McGee said. “I don’t think I got anything for myself out there. I got a fanny pack in the Gucci store, I did. That was the only thing I got for myself.”

McGee also provided an update on his music career, and said he has a few tracks that should be dropping this year. As for his thoughts on Eminem’s latest track that focused on President Donald Trump, McGee let it be known that he was a fan of the rapper’s work, and that his appreciation for Eminem is long-standing.
“It was dope,” McGee said of Eminem’s track. “He held it down. But Eminem has always been hard, so that’s not nothing new.”
