49ers are shopping NaVorro Bowman, time in SF could soon come to an end [report]

An era may soon be coming to an end for an all-time 49er great.

The team is shopping three-time All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman before the NFL trade deadline on October 31st, with Adam Schefter of ESPN reporting that his time in San Francisco soon could be coming to an end. Teams around the league are reportedly interested.

The writing has been on the wall for Bowman ever since the drafting of his assumed successor Reuben Foster earlier this offseason. The situation was exacerbated in the 49ers’ loss to the Colts last weekend, when Bowman sat on the bench for an extended period of time, and voiced his displeasure after the game. Matt Maiocco also reported on KNBR yesterday that the 49ers were unhappy with comments Bowman made before the season about being frustrated that he didn’t feel the team was all in on him returning.

Bowman, 29, was drafted by the 49ers in 2010, and has been one of the best linebackers in the league since that time, making the Pro Bowl four times despite missing nearly two full seasons with serious injuries.
