Festus Ezeli to attend Warriors ring ceremony Tuesday night [report]

An old friend is stopping by for the Warriors’ opener on Tuesday night.

Festus Ezeli will be in attendance at Oracle Arena for the dubs ring ceremony before their game vs. the Rockets, according to Carl Steward of the San Jose Mercury News. The Warriors will have former players representing past championship teams as the 2016-17 champs receive their hardware. Ezeli will represent the 2014-15 championship team.

Ezeli, 27, was a key bench piece on both the 2014-15 championship squad, and the 2015-16 team that lost in seven games to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ezeli was then allowed to walk in free agency to make room for the singing of Kevin Durant, and has seen his promising career hit a speed bump since that time. Ezeli signed with the Trail Blazers for two-years and $15 million last offseason, but was waived before playing a game with the team, missing all of the season due to knee issues.

It will be a nice reunion for Ezeli, who was both a team and fan favorite during his stint in Golden State. It is unclear at this time who will be representing the 1975 NBA championship team.
