Warriors’ second half play too much to overcome at this stage of 76ers’ process

OAKLAND–The Golden State Warriors are a victim of slow starts, but over the last two weeks, they’ve used the second half of games to run their opponents on the floor.

The Philadelphia 76ers were the latest team to succumb to a second half rally from Golden State, as head coach Steve Kerr’s squad won the third quarter 36-21 en route to a 135-114 victory. Thanks to inspired play from reserves JaVale McGee and Nick Young, the Warriors’ up-tempo offense and active defense helped Golden State capture its sixth straight blowout win.

The Warriors have now won six straight games, all by at least 17 points, which is the longest stretch in franchise history of consecutive games won by a margin of at least 15 points. The NBA record is eight games, and if the Warriors win by 15 or more on Monday night against Orlando, they’ll put their blowout streak to the test against the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics on Thursday.

After the Warriors’ latest win, KNBR.com reporter Kerry Crowley recorded a postgame edition of the “KO Podcast” to provide you with all the insight, updates and analysis you need heading into next week.
