SAN FRANCISCO–Finally, for the first time all year, the San Francisco 49ers had something to celebrate when they returned to the locker room Sunday afternoon.
They had just won their first game of the season, and gave Kyle Shanahan his first victory as a head coach in the NFL. The mood in the room was completely different from what it has been after every other home game.
A prime example of this was a quick interchange between linebackers Dekoda Watson and Eli Harold. As soon as reporters converged on Harold after the 49ers’ win, Watson snuck into the group.
“Eli can you please explain why you’re wearing, uh, that big ole white T?” Watson asked. “Tall T…wide…can you explain that please?”
“I took it from your aunt’s closet.” Harold replied.
“No further questions,” Watson said, walking away from the group.
It’s good to see the team can have a bit of fun after a win, even if the season has turned into a nightmare scenario for Shanahan and company. The group has a week off with the bye week ahead of them, and will then host the Seattle Seahawks the following Sunday.
