Cavs players continue Arthur memes saga after comeback win in New York

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers could meet in the NBA Finals for the fourth straight season, but if they do, LeBron James’ squad must overcome significant early season issues.

The Cavs are a mess on the court, and even after a 104-101 victory over the New York Knicks, a 7-7 Cleveland team isn’t exactly trending in the right direction. Off the court? There are no shortage of story lines to follow, and Monday night provided NBA fans with a great one.

Cavaliers’ players took to Instagram after Monday’s win over the Knicks, posting photos of Arthur with the caption “Mood..” For those who don’t know, Arthur is one of the most beloved characters in children’s television history.

The backstory here begins with a James Instagram post of the Arthur meme with the caption “Mood” last week following a Cleveland loss, and a day later, Warriors’ forward Draymond Green appeared to respond with a photo of himself using the caption “Mood” to express his excitement following a Golden State win.

Green insisted his post was not in response to James’ post, but rather an isolated post reflecting his current state after the Warriors worked their way out of an early-season rut.

Though the Cavs aren’t in great shape on the court right now, if their current locker room atmosphere does reflect the photos players posted of Arthur on Monday night, there’s little doubt Cleveland will be on the upswing in the near future…
