An early season college basketball matchup between two middle-tier universities is receiving a lot more attention than it normally would this week, thanks to a couple of NBA stars. Nevada handled Davidson Tuesday night 81-68 in a seemingly uninteresting game of decent offense and much worse defense. However, we can assume former Wolfpack center JaVale McGee and former Wildcat point guard Stephen Curry were plenty excitable during this one.

All of this is due to a simple text exchange which was later posted to Twitter from McGee’s account (a Tweet that now has 6.3k favorites).

As you can see in plain text, Nevada’s easy victory indeed means we can expect to see 2x NBA MVP Stephen Curry rocking that awesome waist vestibule that was so rad in the 90’s (still the greatest fashion decade in this fashion expert’s opinion).
Nevadans came out in numbers on Twitter to throw praise at their former athletic big man for believing in them, most using some form of a hashtag with fanny-pack in it. Most notably, former Warriors head coach and current Wolfpack head coach Eric Mussleman.
Thanks for the support @JaValeMcGee34! Can’t wait to have you at Lawlor for a game soon! Looking forward to the #fannypack

As well as the team’s leading scorer, forward Caleb Martin.
