Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon and tackle Trent Brown ‘questionable’ for Bears

SANTA CLARA – Injuries will once again be on Kyle Shanahan’s mind as his team takes on the Bears in Chicago. Right tackle Trent Brown will be a game time decision, as well as cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon.

Witherspoon injured his ankle when he got tangled up with wide receiver Aldrick Robinson during Thursday’s practice. Witherspoon got some playing time on Friday, but is still listed as “questionable” for Sunday. Witherspoon is likely going to warm up to see how he feels before the game and then a decision will be made if he can play.

Brown, who injured his shoulder in pregame warm-ups before the Seattle game at Levi’s, will also be a game-time decision.

“He looked better, he got more reps today than he has gotten all week,” coach Kyle Shanahan said. If Brown is unable to play, Shanahan will likely insert veteran Zane Beadles at left tackle. Brown’s backup, rookie Eric Magnuson, went on injured reserve this week after spraining his foot in the Seattle loss.
