49ers kicker Robbie Gould was responsible for all 15 of San Francisco’s points in their 15-14 win against his former team on Sunday.
After 11 years with the Bears, Gould was released a week before the 2016 season in favor of Connor Barth, who was cut last month for Cairo Santos. Gould, the all-time leading scorer in Bears history, not only managed more points himself than the entire Bears offense, but also hit the game winner and then celebrated while looking at the Bears’ sideline.

After the game, Gould thanked the Bears for his release while speaking with the Chicago Tribune.
“It motivated me. It drives me every day,” he said. “I have Ryan Pace and Jeff Rodgers and John Fox to thank for that. Because if I would’ve stayed here, who knows what my career would have ended like?
“But you never want somebody to tell you that you weren’t good at your job.”
Bears coach John Fox didn’t care to comment.
John Fox said he didn’t see Robbie Gould yelling at Bears sideline after GW kick. Has no comment.
