49ers inspired by huge boom box during pregame and halftime

Ever since their first win against the Giants at Levi’s Stadium, the 49ers have blared Lil Wayne from a huge boom box before emerging on the field. Right tackle Trenton Brown started what’s now becoming a tradition, blaring motivating tunes at halftime of the Giants’ win, inspiring the 49ers do it before games as well.

They even named Nick Kray, the administrative assistant to coach Kyle Shanahan, “D.J. Kray,” because he’s the one saddled with holding the huge box while the team marches through the tunnel.

The 49ers did it again Sunday in Houston, emerging onto NRG Stadium before the game with the huge box. The 49ers have only won three games this season, however, it’s been three in their last four games and already themes are emerging. The team seems to be absolutely elated that they are finally winning.

Check out rookie safety Adrian Colbert after the game.

Tight end Garrett Celek said that players were going crazy when he was on the KNBR post-game show with Tim Ryan and Ted Robinson. The 49ers are obviously going nowhere this season, but the elation with which they are playing is practically becoming a movement.

Center Daniel Kilgore said the team is wearing down physically, like every player does in the NFL this time of year. However, the 49ers don’t seem like they want to stop playing. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk said the team is also excited about the addition of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and that they want to start the season over.

They are certainly acting like it.
