Jags could be hurting at receiver on Sunday against the 49ers

Several things have changed for the 49ers over the past month, and that includes injuries. Yes, the 49ers’ season-ending injured reserve list is still 20 names long, however, now they are playing teams with more immediate injuries than they have.

On Friday’s final injury report, the 49ers listed back up cornerback Greg Maybin as “doubtful” with a calf injury and tight end Garrett Celek as “questionable” with knee and rib issues. However, knowing Celek, he’s likely to play.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars, the 49ers’ opponent on Christmas Eve day, have some serious problems at wide receiver where starter Marquise Lee has been declared out with an ankle injury and so has back up Larry Pinkard (concussion). Meanwhile fellow receiver Allen Hurns (ankle) is questionable.

Lee and Hurns are the team’s two most prolific receivers. It could mean plenty of playing time for speedster Dede Westbrook who comes into the game with 22 catches for 256 yards and a touchdown.
