After winning 12 games last season and signing a multi-year extension to lead the Raiders into the future, the job security of Oakland Raiders’ head coach Jack Del Rio is in doubt.
According to a report from Mike Florio of Pro Football talk, Del Rio has a 50-50 shot of returning to the Raiders next season. The report also stated that first-year offensive coordinator Todd Downing will most likely not return, as Downing’s offense has struggled while quarterback Derek Carr has taken a step back.
Todd Downing most likely will be out in Oakland, and Jack Del Rio could be, too https://t.co/0CSHm5r5xa

The Raiders are 6-8 and still have a chance to earn a playoff berth, but Oakland must win each of its final two games including a Monday night showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles this week. Del Rio could encounter an interesting situation in Philadelphia as ESPN color commentator Jon Gruden, who is calling Monday’s game, is widely considered one of the most likely candidates to replace Del Rio if he’s fired.
Oakland entered the season as a favorite to win the AFC West and a candidate to battle the Patriots for AFC supremacy, but the team’s performance has not lived up to expectations which has clouded the futures of several key Raiders’ personnel.
