Carlos Hyde believes 49ers are a Super Bowl-caliber team

SANTA CLARA – Ask running back Carlos Hyde how far his team could go if they were start the season and he has no qualms.

“I think if we start all over we could go to the Super Bowl,” Hyde said. “I think we have a really good chance. I’ve been through the bad times, and I sense things are really changing for the better.”

That’s why Hyde, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, wants to be re-signed. Hyde has expressed that he wants to return to the 49ers, and that hasn’t changed after the 49ers’ big win over the playoff-bound Jaguars.

“I don’t want to go anywhere else,” Hyde said. “I like the guys here, I like the coaches here, I like my teammates here. We’ve got a really good bound.”

Hyde gained only 54 yards on 21 carries against a dominating defense, but he’s runs kept the play-action fake alive for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers’ quarterback did the rest, completing 21 of 30 passes for 242 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
