Draymond Green suffers ankle injury in Warriors’ practice

The Warriors waited three weeks for point guard Steph Curry to return to action after an ankle injury, and now, Golden State could be forced to play without another star after forward Draymond Green tweaked his ankle on Tuesday.

According to head coach Steve Kerr, Green injured his left ankle during a scrimmage at the Warriors’ practice facility on Tuesday ahead of the team’s three-game road trip.

“He tweaked it,” Kerr said. “We scrimmaged a little bit today and he just came down on somebody’s foot. It didn’t look bad, but he’s listed as questionable.”

Golden State will fly to Dallas on Tuesday for a matchup with the Mavericks on Wednesday before playing in Houston against the Rockets on Thursday night. Houston will play Golden State without point guard James Harden, who is out at least two weeks with a hamstring injury. The Warriors will conclude their road trip on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers before returning home for a pair of games next week.

Kerr downplayed the seriousness of Green’s injury, but also mentioned that guard Andre Iguodala will be questionable for Wednesday’s game in Dallas.

“Andre is questionable as well, he was just banged up the other night so we’ll see what happens tomorrow,” Kerr said.

Green was ejected from Saturday night’s game after picking up a pair of technical fouls in the second quarter of a Warriors’ win.
