OAKLAND–Jimmy Garoppolo led the 49ers to a 5-0 record in December, and for a brief moment on Tuesday night, Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr thought Garoppolo was tackling another profession.
During the Warriors’ postgame press conference, Kerr fielded a question from CBS Sports reporter Colin Ward-Henninger about the play of center Zaza Pachulia in Golden State’s 123-112 win over the New York Knicks. While Ward-Henninger enunciated quite clearly, Kerr needed the reporter to repeat his question after confusing him for the 49ers’ signal-caller.
“I’m sorry, I’m a little rattled, I thought you were Jimmy Garoppolo,” Kerr joked. “Umm, what did you say?”
So Steve Kerr just said he didn't listen to my question because I look like Jimmy Garoppolo… never heard that one before, but he's a good looking dude so I'll take it. pic.twitter.com/H9GjeDmbLB

While Ward-Henninger said he doesn’t think he looks like Garoppolo, it was a compliment that turned out to be well-received. After a room of reporters erupted in laughter, Ward-Henninger wound up asking his question again and eliciting an answer from Kerr about how Pachulia’s contributions opened up the game for the Warriors’ offense.
