Curry cheers on head of Warriors PR after correcting reporter on statistic

OAKLAND – If you follow the Golden State Warriors closely, you know the name Raymond Ridder.

Ridder is in his 14th season with the team, and currently the team’s Vice President of Public Relations. He accompanies players to their media availability, provides help to members of the media when they need access to the team, and – at times – corrects reporters when they slip up on statistics.

For the second time in his career, Steph Curry has hit five three-pointers in five consecutive games, one off the NBA record of six. During his postgame press conference, a reporter told Curry it was the first time that had happened. Ridder politely told the reporter it was the second time that had happened in Curry’s career, and Steph became a hype man.

“Talk to ’em Raymond,” Curry said before saying he was going to shoot 30 three-pointers in the team’s next game.

Stephen Curry shooting 30 shots probably wouldn’t be the worst thing that could happen to the Warriors. The two-time MVP posted a season-high 49 points against the Celtics Saturday night on 8-for-13 from beyond the arc.

We’ll check back on Tuesday when the Warriors travel to Utah to see if Curry’s prediction of 30 shots will come true.
