OAKLAND – The NBA is a league dominated by it’s relationships.

LeBron James and his (fractured?!?) relationship with Dan Gilbert. Chris Paul and his ex-teammates in Los Angeles. Kevin Durant and his old running mates in Oklahoma City, specifically league MVP Russell Westbrook. The list goes on and on…

When the Oklahoma City Thunder roll through sunny Oakland, California to play a game against their former face of the franchise and his new squad of super-friends, you can expect Durant to have to field questions about his relationship with the franchise he spent the first nine years of his career with.

Durant was asked if he thinks he’ll text or talk to any of his former teammates or coaches when they’re in town. “I have a question,” Durant answered with. “Like, why do you care so much?” Durant was then asked if fielding questions about the Thunder gets old.

Across the Bay Bridge in San Francisco, the Oklahoma City Thunder held their pregame shootaround, and Russell Westbrook was put in a similar situation. Westbrook was asked how he approaches facing the Golden State Warriors, and also answered in the form of a question:

It certainly seems like there’s still some friction between Durant and Oklahoma City, for well documented reasons. Either way, it makes for a more entertaining and compelling game when the Thunder and Warriors tip at Oracle on Tuesday night.
