After finishing with the same record and tied for three other draft tiebreakers, the 49ers won a coin toss at the NFL Scouting Combine over the Raiders on Friday, awarding the team with the 9th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The coin was flipped by Rod Woodson, who played as a defensive back for both the 49ers and Raiders. 49ers general manager John Lynch was in attendance representing the Niners, while the Raiders were represented by general manager Reggie MacKenzie and new/old head coach Jon Gruden.
