OAKLAND – Andre Iguodala doesn’t get up like he used to, but he almost threw down a contender for dunk of the year over a 6’9″ 23-year-old…his own teammate Jordan Bell.
Late in the first quarter, in the midst of a monster 25-0 run by the Golden State Warriors over the visiting Brooklyn Nets, Iguodala got the outlet pass from Kevin Durant on the break…took two hard dribbles and took it to the rack. It appeared like Iguodala was about to put down a Statue of Liberty-type dunk, but Jordan Bell stepped in front of the driving Iguodala.
In the end, Bell’s defense didn’t matter as Iguodala was able to put the ball off the glass and lay it in. Andre fell to the ground with a smile on his face, and appeared to have a few choice words for his rookie running mate.
It’s a good thing for Bell that Iguodala couldn’t finish the dunk, he might have found himself on the wrong half of a basketball card.
