Wolves fan takes selfie, secures candy next to injured Nick Young

When the Golden State Warriors suited up against the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday afternoon, they were missing enough players to field a team that would probably make the playoffs in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

David West (arm cyst), Andre Iguodala (wrist), Jordan Bell (ankle), Patrick McCaw (wrist) and uhhh…right, Stephen Curry (ankle) all missed the Sunday Showcase.

It might be time to add a sixth man to the injury squad.

Late in the second quarter Nick Young attempted to save a ball going out of bounds and fell hard on his rump, landing awkwardly on a chair courtside. He left the game to be checked out by a medical professional on hand, but not before a quick photoshoot with Timberwolves fan.

Not before Young had settled to the floor, a fan sitting courtside started dialing up the camera on his phone, smiled and snapped what appeared to be a selfie with the ailing Warrior. After putting their phone away, the fan looked over to Young and realized there was a bag of candy on the chair that the Warriors small forward was leaning against and gently pulled it closer to themselves.

Sometimes, you just gotta prioritize what is most important in your life and cut out all the other noise.

Luckily for the Warriors, Young was able to re-enter the contest after halftime and made it through the rest of the game. With Steve Kerr taking extreme caution with his injured players (see full injury list above) you can probably expect Nick Young to take a game or two off in the near future. It doesn’t seem like a serious injury, but one worth monitoring going forward.

No current report on the status of the candy.
