OAKLAND – A little over a week ago in the first round of the NCAA Tournament the Davidson Wildcats met the Kentucky Wildcats in the first round. Little did they know there was much more on the line than just a trip to the second round.
Former Warrior Kelenna Azubukie, a Kentucky alumnus, and Stephen Curry, a Davidson alumnus, made a bet on the battle of the Wildcats. In the end, Kentucky’s group were too much for the 12-seeded Davidson Wildcats, winning 78-73 and moving on to the second round.
That also meant Curry showed up to practice with a bet to pay off.

It was a bit weird to see Curry wearing the Kentucky Blue, but he was his usual self – draining shots from all over the court, and ending in his ritual kickball-inspired deep 3-pointer.
This isn’t the first time this year Curry has lost a bet to a teammate. In November, Davidson played (and lost) to Nevada – JaVale McGee’s alma mater. Curry had to rock a fanny pack three times to pay up there.
Good on ya, Steph.
