OAKLAND — Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich announced he’s making a tweak to his starting lineup for Game 2 against the Warriors on Monday, swapping out wing Kyle Anderson for veteran Rudy Gay.

“Rudy Gay is going to start in place of Kyle (Anderson),” Pop said during his pregame presser. “Not that Kyle did anything wrong, just something we’re going to do.”

Despite starting in Game 1, Anderson played just 11 minutes while scoring 0 points on 0-2 shooting. Anderson’s -15 in Game 1 was tied for second worst on the team.

Popovich explained that the Spurs need more offense in Game 2 as his reason for starting Gay. San Antonio shot just 40 percent from the floor while scoring 92 points in Game 1.

“More offense. We need to score, we always harp on defense and that sort of thing and these guys are hard to guard but, we need to score.”

Gay, 31, led the Spurs in scoring on Saturday, dropping 15 points in 22 minutes. During the regular season, Gay averaged 11.5 points in 21.6 minutes per game.
