ANAHEIM — After hitting six in Triple-A Sacramento, Mac Williamson hit a two-run homer in his second plate appearance since rejoining the San Francisco Giants on Friday.
In his previous at-bat, Angels starter Andrew Heaney struck out Williamson with a sinker in the second inning. He tried the same pitch in the fourth inning, but Williamson launched it into the right field bleachers to give the Giants a 3-0 lead.
As it turned out, Williamson’s home run was the hardest hit ball of the season, with an exit velocity of 114.2 miles per hour.

It was one of three home runs the Giants hit before the sixth inning. Nick Hundley started the Giants off with a solo shot in the second, and Andrew McCutchen hit a three-run homer shortly after Williamson.
By the end of the fifth inning, the Giants held a commanding 7-0 lead over the Angels with Jeff Samardzija looking strong in his 2018 debut.
