With the NFL Draft is just six days away, KNBR’s Larry Krueger and John Lund dropped their first episode of the 2018 KNBR Draftcast on Friday, breaking down the entire first round for the 49ers, Raiders, and entire NFL.

In addition to analyzing all the top prospects and where they could possibly go, Krueger threw out an interesting sequence of events that could lead to a first-round trade between the Patriots and 49ers.

“Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network says that of the four quarterbacks, he thinks (Josh) Rosen is the guy most likely to slip,” Krueger said. “He’s got sources. If (Rosen) does slip, there’s another rumor this week that the Patriots would like to trade up for Josh Rosen. Patriots have picks No. 23 and 31, two picks in the second round, they also may have an all-world tight end that may not want to be there any longer in Rob Gronkowski. They may be able to offer the 49ers something for the 9th pick in the draft, that might be too hard to pass up, even if Roquan Smith is staring John Lynch in the face.

“There’s rumors this week that (Tom) Brady is going to ask for big dollars, and may not play next year, and he’s 40+ years old. So they need a quarterback bad. Could Lynch rip off Belichick twice? That might be something to watch on draft day, and it would just add to the Jimmy G lore, if somehow the 49ers got the pick that they traded for Jimmy back, in addition to more, so the Pats could move up for Rosen.”
