Bochy provides update on Alen Hanson

Giants second baseman Alen Hanson looked like he tweaked something after scoring from first base on a ripping double by Austin Jackson in the eighth inning of Saturday night’s 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was enough for manager Bruce Bochy to replace Hanson with Kelby Tomlinson on defense in the bottom half of the inning.

After the game, Bochy told reporters that Hanson has a tight left hamstring and is considered day-to-day. He also said he does not anticipate a roster move.

Hanson, 25, had another solid game on Saturday, going 2 for 3 with a solo home run in the second inning, his third blast in just 41-at bats this season.

Hanson has been stellar in place of the injured Joe Panik, posting a .273/.313/.568 slash line since his call up on April 28.
