SAN FRANCISCO — Sometimes you forget to bring a glove to the game, and sometimes that doesn’t matter.
Sunday’s day game at AT&T Park was filled with some great defensive plays on the field, and one was made in the stands right behind home plate. In the 5th inning a Giants fan eating nachos in the Alaska Club level suddenly had a foul ball flying straight for him. He did not hesitate, and with a full extension from his seat, he barehanded the ball while balancing a plate of nachos in the other hand.
The fans on the promenade level were disappointed they didn’t get their shot to make it to the highlight reel, but they erupted in applause once they realized what happened. Overall great play by the nacho-holding rookie.
Maybe if Alen Hanson’s rehab gets delayed again the Giants can give this guy a shot.
