Ball, 19, first made headlines in 2018 when he was arrested in China for shoplifting while on a trip with the UCLA basketball team. Ball was suspended by the school, and then quit the team, electing instead to play professionally in Lithuania with his younger brother LaMelo.
LiAngelo has declared for the upcoming NBA Draft, but was not invited to NBA Scouting Combine. At 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Ball is considered a shooting guard / small forward prospect. Ball is not considered a top 100 prospect according to ESPN.
The news comes on the heels of Ball’s performance at the Pro Basketball Combine on Wednesday morning, where he looked impressive while playing in front of scouts from 20 NBA teams.
