What a few days it has been for Reuben Foster.

On Wednesday afternoon, domestic violence charges against Foster were dismissed after three-and-a-half months of accusations, testimonies, and general uncertainty. On Friday, Foster’s marijuana misdemeanor, which he obtained in January in his home state of Alabama, was also dismissed, the Tuscaloosa County District Court Clerk confirmed.

The Sacramento Bee’s Matt Barrows was the first to report the news.

The marijuana misdemeanor was one of two remaining punishable offenses from the NFL. The other is the weapons charge attached to the domestic violence case, although this was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

What is so bizarre is that Foster’s gun charge is illegal in California, but not in Alabama. His marijuana charge was illegal in Alabama, but not in California. Now with the latter dismissed, the only remaining misconduct is the gun charge.

In two days, Foster went from being entrenched in an ongoing domestic violence case, which could have been sent to a trial, delaying the process even more. When he was exonerated, it was a huge win for the 49ers, who kept Foster on the roster and allowed the legal process to play out.

It is unclear how much a marijuana misdemeanor would have hurt Foster in terms of a potential suspension. The NFL has been inconsistent with both marijuana charges and domestic violence cases throughout recent years.

Both cases are now dismissed, with the weapon misdemeanor as the only one remaining.
