Nick Young says Dennis Rodman came to him in a dream, inspired defensive play in Game 6

Nick Young scored just five points in the 16-plus minutes he was on the floor during Sunday’s Game 6. Normally that would mean the oft-chucking Young had an ineffective night, but surprisingly, the Golden State guard had one of his best defensive performances in a Warriors uniform this season. Multiple times Young was targeted by James Harden in isolation scenarios, and multiple times Young held his own.

So what happened to Young that spurned his defensive awakening at the most crucial moment of the Warriors’ season?

“Dennis Rodman came in my dream last night, and I was wondering why he came in my dream,” a chuckling Young told reporters. “He had the purple hair, all kind of stuff. He told me ‘tomorrow you’re going to play a little defense.’ I was like ‘nah that’s not my game Dennis Rodman, why you in my dream?’ But it just so happened I played a little defense.’”

This isn’t the first time a pregame dream has inspired Young. During the regular season, a dream about John Travolta led Young to wearing an….interesting game day outfit.
