Curry beats buzzer with deep three to tie Game 1 at half

Game 1 of the NBA Finals got off to an inauspicious start for the Golden State Warriors. First Klay Thompson left the floor with what looked like a serious knee injury midway through the first quarter. He eventually returned appearing unscathed, but the Warriors didn’t look sharp. LeBron James, however, did, dropping 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting.

Stephen Curry had the best half of any Warrior, dropping 18 points of his own while adding six assists. He saved his best moment for last, however, tying the game up at halftime with a deep, 38-foot buzzer beating 3-pointer that resulted in the loudest cheer from the Oracle Arena crowd so far.

The Warriors and Cavs not only had the same score at halftime, but shot the exact same percentage (52.4 percent on 22-for-42) through the first two quarters. Interstingly, Nick Young was a team best +8 during his nine first half minutes.
