Statement by an NFL Spokesperson:
Victor Bolden of the San Francisco 49ers has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2018 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Bolden will be eligible to return to the 49ers’ active roster on Monday, October 1 following the team’s September 30 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bolden is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

“Unknowingly, I used a supplement that was on the NFL’s banned substance list. As a professional athlete, I take full responsibility for not verifying the ingredients of the supplement. In the future, I will be much better educated when choosing what to put in my body. It hurts to know that I will not be on the field with my team for the first four games of the season.”
