Diamondbacks score two, Giants respond with back-to-back homers

Back to back home runs are uncommon, especially after your opponent scores two in the previous inning.

The Giants starting rotation has taken an unexpected turn in 2018 as it faced injury after injury but the young pitchers have had quite a weekend posting 19 innings with only one run allowed. Holland was on track to match this feet starting the game with 4 consecutive strikeouts. However, in the fourth inning the Diamond backs were able to break this stride and put two on the board.

Due up next was Andrew McCutchen, Brandon Crawford, and Pablo Sandoval. McCutchen in the first at bat since the Diamondbacks scored launched a retaliatory homer to left. Crawford followed immediately after making this the third time this year the Giants have hit back-to-back home runs.

McCutchen also hit a three-run homer on Sunday off the impenetrable Jake Arrieta who before that day had only allowed three runs in a month.
