Oracle Arena was in full force to celebrate Golden State’s 2018 NBA Finals triumph, marking their second consecutive championship and third in four years. The Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-85 on Friday night to complete the sweep.
As fans emptied Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, Oracle Arena bellowed in cheers. Fans filled the arena to capacity to watch Game 4 on the overhead scoreboard. As soon as the buzzer sounded, the arena went crazy. Blue and yellow spotlights illuminated the space, as fans hoisted signs in the air and others snapped camera videos, as if the game took place in Oakland.
The Warriors dominated in Oracle Arena all postseason long, losing only one of their 11 postseason games on their home floor. They won 16 straight home playoff games to set the NBA record before losing Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets.
If Friday night was any indication, the Oakland faithful will welcome its Warriors back to town to continue the party.
