After leading the Giants to a win with five RBIs on Sunday, Pablo Sandoval provided the winning hit on Monday night.
Sandoval’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 11th inning gave San Francisco a 2-1 win over the wild-card leading Chicago Cubs.

The Giants scored their only other run in the fifth inning, when Alen Hanson incredibly scored on an errant pick-off throw to first base by Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks.

The throw was about the only mistake Hendricks made, holding the Giants to just five hits and no earned runs in eight and 1/3 innings. San Francisco starter Andrew Suarez was impressive in his own right, allowing just one run on three hits in six innings of work.
The win is the Giants’ third in four games. They currently sit three games out of first place in the NL West with five games remaining until the All-Star break.
